The Kendriya Vidyalayas have a four – fold mission it’s vision .viz.,
1.To cater to the educational needs of children of RSP,CISF,NSPCL as a project sector KV. Sponsored by (SAIL)RSP,ROURKELA.
It also caters the educational needs of children of all central Govt. Employees by providing a common syllabus with well modulated programme of education ;
2.To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education, for all round development of the children.
3.To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the central board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational research and Training.
4.To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indian ness” among children.
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), the first integrated steel plant in the public sector in India, was set up with German collaboration with an installed capacity of 1 million tonnes. Subsequently, its capacity was enhanced to 1.9 million tonnes.
The plant was modernised in the mid-1990s with a number of new units having state-of-the-art facilities. Most of the old units were also revamped for effecting substantial improvement in the quality of products, reducing cost and ensuring cleaner environment.
